Der Grosse Krieg is a traditional miniatures game for recreating the opening battles of the Great War. With the wide range of miniatures now available to wargamers, we can recreate the massive sweeping campaigns in Prussia and Galicia as well as the actions on the Western Front in Belgium, along the Marne and on the Frontiers. Players command corps and divisions but maneuver battalions and batteries in a system that plays faster than the alternatives while providing greater tactical detail. Historical organizations are provided for all of the early war's combatants.
The emphasis is on army and corps-level command: the functions of lower-level generals and officers are handled by the systemm speeding play. The game does not use dice, and allows one or more players to use a device to moderate play. The interface is simple and easy to use, and the game easy to lear, makng it perfect for convention play.
The game app has a single screen which functions as a "calculator" for resolving game actions.
The Great War was horrifying, but the opening years of the conflict hold a drama which has never been matched. With Der Grosse Krieg, now you can relive this brutal and epic affair!
